Call for Unity Among Muslims

Farooq Abdullah, the President of the National Conference, emphasized the critical need for solidarity among Muslims around the globe. He commended the ongoing struggles in Palestine and Iran, urging Muslims to unite in their fight against oppression and injustice.

Accompanied by his grandsons, Zameer and Zahid Abdullah, the former Chief Minister took part in the 10th Muharram procession in the Zadibal region of Srinagar, where they provided water and juice to the attendees.

Reflecting on the sacrifice of Imam Hussein at Karbala, Abdullah stated, “The message of solidarity with the Islamic community, particularly with Palestine and Iran, is that Muslims must stand together against all forms of evil; only then can peace be achieved globally.” He noted that Karbala illustrates the path of truth and the sacrifices made by Muslims for humanity's sake.

Abdullah further remarked that the lessons from Karbala regarding resilience are pertinent today, symbolizing the fight against tyranny and oppression that many Muslim nations currently endure, exacerbated by the inaction of global powers regarding these injustices.
